Tumbling Leaves 100x120x4cm Acrylic.jpg
I love the playfullness of this painting! I have layered thin scrapings of paint to build up the effect of movement and lightness as if leaves are floating from a tree. This is currently on exhibition at the Northcott Theatre, Exeter.

Blue Summer Hayfield 2 120x100x4cm Acrylic.jpg
This is a larger canvas 1mx1.2m and really makes a statement on a wall. I have sold this and others in the series to both corporate and private locations

Sarah Richardson
I am a huge believer in the power of play and the altered mind state that is achieved through the act of playing.
Through my art I create a style of painting that not only allows myself a chance to play with colour, texture, form, etc., but also invites the viewer to participate and engage in this sense of fun and childlike abandon.
I have been greatly influenced and encouraged by the Australian artist Ken Done and the Cornish artist John Dyer, both unashamedly happy painters who also have an intense love of bright colours and forms.
Recently I have been exploring the joys of picnics in summer hayfields, layering colours and textures in the way of painted collage and enjoying the juxtapositioning of sea, sky and blurred horizons.
