Ruth Snell was born in Devonport, Plymouth in 1963. She has lived in both Devon and Cornwall. Gaining a BA (Hons) Degree in Classics she returned to painting after occasional work in creative writing. Art runs in the family. Her great-grandfather was a Plymouth Stonemason who sculpted The Pelican ship on Plymouth Library & Museum in 1909. Ruth paints in oils, watercolours and acrylics on a variety of styles from nature, botanicals, landscape and portraits. She is also an advocate of art therapy.
