Largely self taught, I started painting and drawing from early childhood and have worked professionally since 1990. I moved from Kent to Devon in 2007 and am now painting less frequently, although still influenced and inspired by nature, by reflections on water and glass and by the play between light and shade both in land and seascape, and in still life. I occasionally make pencil portraits, often using photographs for reference. When I lived in Kent, I frequently participated in the local open studio event, and exhibited in several shows and galleries in Kent and East Sussex. Being fairly close to London, I was able to submit my work to the major annual open exhibitions, and was selected and shown on several occasions at the Royal Watercolour Society, the Society of Women Artists and the Royal Institute of Painters in Watercolour.
