Endless Space

Greens, yellows, white and oranges in a balanced, abstract composition are set off with energetic line work to playfully capture the feel of a hot, dry summer day on a barren Moorland landscape. Some patches of pink to indicate the Heather are woven throughout the painting.

High Lands

A lively abstraction of a Moorland view with wild weather and a distant Tor. Yellow and Pink pop against greens and dark blue. Contrast between dark and light and lively white line work suggest quickly changing weather over a spacious deserted land.

Storm Passing

Time spent among Dartmoor’s wide open skies and dramatic landscapes has inspired this series of paintings. They are a document of the natural world, yet are imbued with my feelings of wonder and joy at being in nature and experiencing the elements. Painted on deep-edge canvases so they can be hung on the wall or stood on the shelf. Acrylic on Canvas. Original work £180.

Summer Downpour

A loose but balanced painting, largely blue and white in colour with some contrasting patches of pink and yellow. Full of detail and texture, varied brush strokes and subtle etching. Some defined darker line work suggest of leaves which contrast with the wilder composition throughout the rest of the canvas. The piece for me evokes a summer downpour of rain, either in the streets or in the wilderness.

Kate Bosence

I have an intuitive abstract approach using acrylic paint on canvas, building up in layers, staying loose and experimental, exploring colours, marks and texture, seeking to find balance and harmony. My inspiration is taken from nature, the seasons, the dramatic scenery of Dartmoor, the beautiful Cornish coastline and my time abroad in India. This year I have been drawn to explore abstract landscape. You can view my work on my website. ONLINE ONLY FOR OPEN STUDIOS 2020 - VISIT - www.kate-bosence.com
