Jo Bean began painting with spray cans in 2010, whilst teaching Art & Photography at a school in Somerset. Having trained in Fine Art at the University of Plymouth (2004-2007) and qualified as a teacher (2009), Jo has come to realise her heart and passion is working with Graffiti spray paint and hand-cut stencils.
The range of ideas and techniques explored are gathered from teaching and local Devonshire countryside. These are the basis for sketchbook drawings and thoughts, which are then transformed into hand-cut stencils and sprayed. The paintings are bright and colourful, floral compositions, with a depth created from the lush range of colours available.
