My pottery is mainly thrown in the wheel using stoneware from a local source and wood-fired. I make functional pieces which people can use in their everyday lives and cook with. I do not production throw, every piece is unique, creating 'favourites' in kitchen cupboards! I especially enjoy making serving bowls and large open bowl forms in which the forms are enchance by wood firing.
The firing process is the main event for me, as this is the part when my pots can develop in character and individuality. It's a process with requires wood preparation and alot of interaction with the kiln. Wood firing has become a journey for me which I intend to keep on travelling and exploring.
