Contemplation

Inspired by moments of personal contemplation whilst sat on the dramatic granite outcrops of Staple Tor and watching others find their own sheltered spot to wonder at the uninterrupted view to the high moor. The changing mood with each beam of sunlight and shade of cloud settles the soul and frees the mind.

Windy Tree

If buildings could talk what beautiful memories Brentor Church would talk of. Happy days spent launching parachutes off the rocky outcrops racing to catch them as they touch down before sitting under the windy tree to catch your breath and just be.

Spreading Joy

Inspired by a stranger whose smile and colour unknowingly lifted my day. Waiting in a queue of traffic I spotted this lady positively bouncing along, her dog leading the march out front as eager as she to get to their destination. The brightly coloured stems of gladioli clutched tightly to her chest extending up, framing her joyous face and infectious smile. Flowers for herself, a friend, a celebration. I’ll never know but thank you!

Friendship

Heartened by the tenderness of an observed friendship between a young boy and his faithful companion. The unconditional love so evidently connecting the two. A protector, a confidante, a play mate, his world.

Identity

Finding out who you are is a crazy, magical and complicated journey. The angelic innocence of the teenager remains as they find their way, shutting out the world and the adults who think they know best. As the mind looks inwards, the outward looking image is everything. Whoever you are, however you become, you are loved.

Dizzy Daffodils

It’s a beautiful sight to see an armful of blooms destined for a friend, a thank you to a mum, an ‘I Love You’ to a partner. Seeing the early spring blooms peeking up through the frosty soil gives a new hope, a promise of warmer times and new beginnings.
