Sebastian the seahorse is about 4 foot tall and made of locally collected driftwood
I am a local artist and all my work is inspired by the beautiful Devon coast. The red cliffs, the driftwood and shells, the tides, wildlife and boats all feature in my work. My driftwood sculptures are created from local driftwood, collected mostly from Shaldon Beach, Ness Beach and Dawish. I spend hours with my two little boys wandering the coast and selecting the perfect shapes and colours to create the smooth finishes and sun drenched colours. A theme throughout my work is 'reuse'. Nearly all my materials were once something else, or a tired version of what they are now, I love to make something out of nothing, or to rearrange what already exists into something more attractive.
