Chloe Morter

My work incorporates elements of the natural world and my surroundings in the devon countryside, with a particular focus on nature.  Inspiration also comes from a love of pattern and a strong interest in folk art, medieval imagery and art history - following my graduation in that subject in 1996. These interests sit alongside my modern graphic design training and methods.  I like to combine the intricacy and texture of embroidery with layers of fabric and paper collage, building up the image in a series of layers and then adding final stitched finishing details.
