About Us

Devon Artist Network (DAN) is a membership organisation for Devon based artists and makers. It was formed in 2004 with the aims of supporting and promoting the work of artists living and working in the county.

FarmsforCityChildren1.jpgThe idea for a network came from artists who had taken part in the Nine Days of Art open studios events organised by the STRAW Project (Skills Training & Rural Arts Week) and who wanted a way to meet and keep in contact with each other.

The network continues to be artist-led which is reflected in the composition of the board, which is wholly artist run. The Chairman is Teignbridge artist Joanna Radford who was re-elected at the Annual General Meeting (AGM) in October 2009.

Kate Wilson who works 2 days a week for DAN runs the organisation on a day-to-day basis. Other members of staff include Administrator Anita Harper, Devon Open Studios Coordinator Linda Hajdukiewicz and Media Officer Dorothy Muir.
