Rupal Adderley is an artist and illustrator, who studied illustration in Exeter in the late nineties.
She creates colourful paintings using watercolour and gold pen/ink, and also produces drawings, mainly using pen or pencil.
The paintings and drawings are influenced by Indian miniature paintings and her general connection to the Indian culture. Her interest in myths and legends from different cultures, and decorative patterns on textiles, ceramics and carvings from all over the world also help inspire the images she produces. However, Rupal’s main source of inspiration comes from the natural surroundings and in her work she continues to explore themes which have a connection to nature.
