My current work developed after retirement and following a local Access course in Art and Design. Trees and landscape form the basis of a variety of work using reclaimed wood and mdf offcuts. My inspiration is drawn from East Devon coastal and inland areas. Trees endlessly reinvent themselves as construction and design material, and I seek to participate in this process before it ends with bonfire, decay or landfill. In allowing the grain of the wood to suggest the subject matter, a further conversation becomes possible. Mapping the Landscape seeks to blend appropriate map features with landscape to interpret and intensify the sense of a particular location.
