Home Page for Rosemary Bonney
Living in Holne, on the fringe of Dartmoor, brings me into contact with some outstanding countryside- dramatic moorland, woods, rivers and an abundance of wildflowers throughout the seasons. Further afield lies the beautiful coastline of the South Hams and beyond that, the artistic influences of Cornwall. My inspiration is derived from these environments. My current preference is for mixed media using acrylics and/or oils supplemented with oil pastels, oil bars, pens and pencil to varying degrees. Texture paste, sand, moorland grass also feature in my paintings. I observe and photograph when out in the landscape and absorb information from the subject matter. I frequently return to the site of the image for further reference. The personal feeling which the subject arouses in me is important. 'Devonport leat' featured here is such an example. | |
