Home Page for David Ames

I make furniture for you to sit on, eat off, work at, sleep in, decorate with and dream about. I like to work with the natural beauty of the wood which becomes an intrinsic part of the design, making one piece at a time, practising age old methods of cabinet making and crafting the wood using a mix of traditional and modern techniques.  The construction of each piece relies mainly on hand cut joints and is beautifully finished with environmentally friendly, durable finishes. I source mostly British hardwood, often local timber, from forests and mills in Devon and neighbouring counties.

If you'd like to have a chat about commissioning a piece of furniture, or to visit my workshop, please get in touch for more information or visit my website for more details and to view my portfolio.
