High Beara Artists Chloe Woolvett.jpg"I just cannot get around from one studio to the next fast enough! I have enjoyed every studio I have visited and badgered others to go and see the work.”

"We thoroughly enjoy visiting artists in their studios, particularly if they are working at the time. The standards this year are excellent.”

Quotes from visitors to Devon Open Studios 2009.

Devon Open Studios is the flagship project of Devon Artist Network and largest event of its kind in the county  showing work by almost 250 artists across 111 venues in 2009. It is one of the highlights of Devon's cultural calendar and runs over 16 days each September attracting visitors from across the South West and beyond.

The 2009 event attracted over 30,000 visits and saw sales in excess of £113,000. Unlike traditional galleries there is no commission on sales and all the money goes directly to the artists who made the work.

The range of work on show is fantastic encompassing painting, drawing, printmaking, sculpture, ceramics, photography, textiles, jewellery, collage, works in glass, metal, wood and paper, furniture making, installations and a variety of work utilising new media.
