To promote, celebrate and champion the visual arts in Devon
Welcome to DAN

Devon Artist Network (DAN) is a membership organisation set up to promote the visual arts and create opportunities for artists and makers in Devon.

DAN was established in 2004 and is a non-profit making organisation initiating a range of projects across the county including the well established Devon Open Studios (DOS) event that runs annually in September.

I am exploring who we are and our place in the world and am particularly curious about the affects of subliminal experiences, the intangible physical sensations, thoughts and feelings which create our bodily held memories. To deepen my exploration of embodied intuition I use meditative processes to photograph, video, paint and work with materials subtle affecive qualities. Found in the mundane and familiar these often reveal strange connections and new perspectives hinting at the mystical.          Installations: Recent MA work responds to the imminent loss of my childhood home, a traditional dairy farm in East Devon soon to be developed into cranbrook, the first new town (5000 homes) to be built in Devon since the Middle ages. Painting and textiles: explore how subtle sensual rhythms and textures occurring in natural light, land and seascapes evoke moment, movement and memory. BA Fine Art, P.G.Diploma in Documentary Photography, MA Fine Art 2012.
