Statement
The catalyst for this ongoing project is at Hemerdon,a disused mine on the edge of Dartmoor. Ever since I was a young child I have been fascinated by the way that nature will, if left to its own devices, rapidly recover from human activity. The way that nature can deconstruct seemingly impenetrable materials such as concrete, steel and within a relatively short space of time almost erode all trace of that, that was once prominent.
The images have a narrative and dialogue with current environmental issues, rural unemployment and the human condition.
